Please read the following rules carefully before joining the 2008 "Walang Ganyan Sa States" Photo Contest

WHO

The "Walang Ganyan sa States" Photo Contest is open to all photographers. Professional or Amateur.




WHAT

We are looking for original, striking images of unique filipino life, events, actions around the Philippines that capture what "Walang Ganyan sa States" means to you, something uniquely Filipino. These images may reflect the wide variety of Filipino Everyday Life around the islands, We encourage entries from all regions, in both rural and urban settings. We expect to receive images that represent life that is uniquely filipino.

Entries must be:

The original work of the entrant

Non-infringing of the rights of others

Respectful of the rights, sensitivities, and culture of persons depicted

An accurate reflection of the subject matter and scene as it appeared, without alteration (other than standard optimization, including removal of dust, cropping, adjustments to color and contrast, etc.)

Entries will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, and artistic merit. Decisions made by the judges are final.

Photos that have already joined a similar contest theme and won are still eligible to join our online contest.

WHEN

Deadline for submitting entries is August 15, 2008. Each contestant must be a registered user photo.net.ph. All Files must be uploaded to the "Walang Ganyan sa States" contest located at Gallery http://www.photo.net.ph/thumbnails-3505.html


WINNING ENTRIES & PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded as described below.

1ST PRIZE = PHP 5,000.00
2ND PRIZE = PHP 3,000.00
3RD PRIZE =PHP 2,000.00


A selection of winning photos may appear in PHOTO.NET.PH/BLOGALICIOUS for press release purposes and promotion of the Philippines as a travel destination provided that all uses are accompanied by appropriate attribution to the photographer.

Entrants retain ownership and all other rights to future use of their photographs. Photos will be used to promote the Philippines as a Travel Destination on Photo.net.ph.

Legal conditions: To enter the Competition, entrants must agree to certain legal conditions. Entry of photographs into the Contest implies acceptance of contest rules regardless of whether entrants sign a statement confirming acceptance.



HOW

A total of up to 5 photographs may be submitted per person. We prefer to receive digital entries by upload to the gallery, but entries may be digital files of photos on film. COLORED PHOTOS ONLY.

Digital entries: Camera-made digital images or scans of prints should be uploaded to the "Walang Ganyan sa States Photo Gallery" Located at http://www.photo.net.ph/thumbnails-3505.html
files size should at least be 4 in x 6 in by 72 dpi for web viewing.

Uploaded entries should not contain any identifying marks (watermarks, borders, labels, text, signature) so judging can be fair and unbiased.


Winners will be notified by posting the list of winners at http://www.photo.net.ph/blogalicious by end of August. Winner is then advised of details of the contest. If any winner fails to claim his or her prize within 900 days of being notified, that winner will forfeit his or her prize.
